Treatment THAT INTEGRATES MIND + BODY + SPIRIT

True integrative health embraces all aspects of the person, including the mind, body, and spirit. We will make room for this in our work together and set the intention to keep our hearts and minds open.

During psychotherapy sessions I offer emotional support and when I notice themes emerge, I offer them to you as reflections. Through this type of therapeutic exchange, you can develop a greater awareness of your internal world. Understand your moods, feelings, thoughts, and behaviors. Safely visit difficult feelings, memories, and fears within the container of a therapeutic relationship. Allow yourself to feel supported. Our time together is for you. As we progress, the themes and patterns of your life’s journey will become visible. We reflect on these and set intentions to shape the path forward

During Misophonia Consultation Sessions I am an active participant, sharing concrete tools, the latest science, as well as suggestions or assignments.

Misophonia treatment

Even though there is no known cure for Misophonia, there can still be relief. I work with clients to identify the areas of life most impacted by Misophonia and we work to implement interventions that relieve suffering. These interventions can involve audiological tools, CBT, mindfulness, nervous system therapies, interpersonal communication skills, as well as more experimental novel treatments.

*All sessions are remote via video unless otherwise arranged.

services

  • Misophonia Therapy & Consultation

I offer psychotherapy for adult (18+) clients in New York, and consultation for clients living outside of the state. I utilize a combination of Psychodynamic, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Polyvagal Theory, and transpersonal therapies. Misophonia therapy is novel and there is no curative evidence-based treatment YET. However, the work I do with Misophonia clients focuses on increasing quality of life and hope, building acceptance about having a complex condition, teaching productive and healthy interpersonal communication (especially with trigger sources), and reducing the shame and need for secrecy about having Misophonia. Sessions are offered virtually.

  • General Psychotherapy

I offer general psychotherapy by taking an integrative approach to healing - incorporating body work, breath work, and meditation. True integrative health embraces not only the psyche and the mind, but also the body and spirit. I try to help my clients tune in to the healing power that already exists within ourselves. I also utilize psychodynamic, CBT, DBT, ACT, and Polyvagal Theory modalities.

“Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience and learning to befriend what is going inside ourselves.”— Bessel Van Der Kolk
